Okay. So for those of you who game actively and do so in the MMO genre, which ones do you play? Here's my list.
WoW :: Alliance, Feathermoon Server :: Main - Andi
FFXIV :: Balmung NA Server :: Main - Andraia Shepard
TESO :: Not Subscribed, but play off and on
Those are my top three. There are others sometimes.
Nexon :: Their games are my secret shame, I like the stupid
Wildstar :: I log in sometimes when I'm bored
TERA :: Jiggle physics are funny af
Neverwinter :: Sometimes :: Main - Rylerin Greywhisper, tiefling rogue
LoTRo :: Ocasionally!
ToR :: Also occasionally :: Main - Ana'tari
I'm sure there are others. Who else plays things of a massively multiplayer type?
As far as regular multiplayer stuff, I like Overwatch, currently. It's more fun than it has any right to be considering how bad I am at it.

God, I haven't MMO'd seriously since the days of MUDs XD
Got kinda tired of being pestered for free stuff by all the other players. That and not a lot of RP going on.
But I do play Splatoon (I know that's not MMO, but it is multiplayer).

I'd say yes, and that's as a person who straight up doesn't do shooters. It's overall a fun game, and most of the time even if someone's lagging the results can be amusing =p
Just stay away from rank mode, that's where all the mlg tryhard asshats hang out. They're easy to spot when they come to turf, since they seem to be trying to drive all the casual fun players out for some reason.

double posting LIEK A BAWSS If you haven't already, next time you're at a Best Buy and if they still have the wuu demo with Sploon on it up, play through that demo. It'll give you a feel for the controls. It uses the wuu pad gyro controls by default but you can disable those and go analog if you prefer, I know a few players who do that. If you do get the game and want to ease in, friendo me on Miiverse. My NNID is Setsu-P and my IGN for Sploon is Slushious. I'm generally on Monday and Tuesday nights for an hour, around 2030 or so EST. Due to unavoidable satellite lag, I tend to just do one or two actual turf matches and then go private with a friend of mine. You should be able once you level up enough to join me in there and we can go one on one or do some hide and seek. Lately we've been practicing maneuvers one on one tho. I'll TRY to rein myself in and not automatically kick your ass, though I'm not the badass-tier player my friend is. If we vs him, I'll make sure you're on my team. He's really effective XD Also, single-player mode. You get backstory on the game, it's immersive, and actually a decent tutorial (if super fucking annoying at times). Also this guy's videos. He makes me feel like a filthy casual (which I am, lbr), but he's hilarious. |
